Arcine Studio’s collaborative vision for the Urban Square project harmonizes nature and urbanity, creating a dynamic yet peaceful oasis in Kasusu, Uganda. As a team, we believe in seamlessly blending contemporary urban amenities with the serene forested backdrop, providing the community with a space that fosters well-being and connection. Our design ethos revolves around sustainability, aesthetics, and community cohesion, ensuring this space becomes a vibrant hub for residents and visitors alike.
PROJECT CONCEPT
Spanning 7 acres in Kasusu, Uganda, the Urban Square project, conceived by Arcine Studio, artfully marries urban sophistication with the tranquil embrace of the surrounding forest. This unique development redefines the urban landscape, seamlessly blending modernity and the serenity of nature into a harmonious symphony.
At the heart of this project lies a cutting-edge gymnasium, promoting physical well-being amidst the lush backdrop of the forest. Adjacent to it, a contemporary school offers an inspiring space for young minds to flourish within nature’s embrace. A state-of-the-art community center stands as a symbol of unity and cultural exchange, fostering community bonds. A dedicated sports area encourages an active lifestyle, inviting residents to revel in the pristine natural surroundings.
Open-air restaurants and cafes nestle within the forest, creating enchanting dining experiences. Scattered throughout the landscape are numerous seating areas, complete with bonfire pits and gazebos, providing residents with serene spots for relaxation, socialization, and contemplation amidst the verdant forest.
Organic pathways meander through the development, allowing residents to explore the pristine greenery that envelops the square.
