Funplex
Arcine Studio’s vision of Philadelphia’s Funplex is to create a lively, welcoming outdoor recreation area that encourages community involvement, wellbeing, and health. The three-acre park features many basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts to accommodate a range of sporting interests and promote physical exercise among locals of all ages.
PROJECT CONCEPT
The park provides plenty of seating areas next to the dining area, including picnic tables and seats for socializing and resting. The design also showcases a dedicated children’s play area with bright swings, slides, and ground patterns that captivate young minds and inspire creativity. In addition to drawing kids in, the whimsical design features promote vigorous play, which improves their physical and social development.
In order to promote diversity, Funplex has parking spaces that are easily accessible to all guests, including those with limited mobility. Throughout the park, vibrant colors and dynamic patterns are used to create an uplifting and lively atmosphere, according to the overall design concept of color. The space’s visual attractiveness is improved by this energetic color scheme, which makes it an appealing spot to unwind and have fun.
Funplex is ultimately intended as a comprehensive community asset that promotes outdoor recreation and healthy living. The park is positioned to grow into a beloved resource for the Philadelphia community by offering a variety of recreational opportunities and warm social areas that encourage an active, lively, and connected urban lifestyle.
